Cost and limits
Choosing e-signature software for a small business
There is no single best one, but there are four questions that settle it quickly: how many documents you send, whether your recipients should have to create an account, whether your PDFs already have form fields, and whether you need anything regulated like notarization. Most small businesses get the answer wrong by comparing feature tables instead.
How many documents, honestly
Count a year, not a month, and count the busy month twice. Plans that allow 100 envelopes per user per year sound generous until an onboarding season arrives.
If the number is under about five a month, several tools including SignaCore have a free tier that covers it without a card.
What your recipients have to do
This is the one that costs you completions. Every step between the email and the signature loses people, and the worst of them is being asked to create an account.
No mainstream tool requires recipients to pay. Some invite them to register anyway. SignaCore has no signer account at all - the code emailed to the address is the whole identity check.
Whether your PDFs have fields already
If your documents are flat - scans, exports, government forms - placing fields by hand is the work, and it is the work every time the form changes.
Tools differ sharply here, and some put automatic detection on higher tiers. SignaCore detects fields on flat PDFs on every plan including the free one, and shows you what it found before anything is sent.
Whether you need anything regulated
Notarization, identity verification beyond email, payments taken inside the document, or a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS. If any of those is a yes, the question is answered: buy the tool that has it.
SignaCore has none of them, which is on its comparison page in the same size type as everything else.
Try it on a real document.
Five documents a month are free and it asks for no card. Whoever you send to signs without creating an account.
